How to get your hair longer then ever before.

Are you one of those people who is always trying to get longer hair, yet you never seem to get there? Ever wondered: “What can I eat to make my hair grow stronger?” or “What do I need to do to make my hair long?”

Look no further, cause here I‘ll tell you all about that. Some of the tips are super easy and you can start doing them right away, others might be a bit tricky but can help your hair so much!

First off is to treat your hair kindly. This can be done by using a shampoo and conditioner that gives proteins and moisture, or even a hair treatment that goes deeper into the hair and restores it from the inside out. You can even wear some treatments in your hair, they’ll give protection (UV-protection for example) and nourishment throughout the day! One of the best product brands for treating your hair that I know of is Olaplex. A revolutionary brand that helps you get and maintain healthy hair.

A step beyond that is to not damage your hair so much. Like brushing your hair from tip to root with a quality brush. (Mason Pearson is still the queen of all brushes) Or to colour your hair safe, using Olaplex with your bleaching services, better yet no bleaching at all. The same goes for heat styling, when you do always use a heat protector, even better is to not blow-dry or curling/straightening your hair. Although hair can take colouring and heat pretty well, it is healthier to do it safely and most healthy to not do it at all.

That’s fine and all but what else is there? Food! We all love to talk about food, don’t we? For your hair, the things we eat are very important. Hair is a product of the body, so for it to come out strong and healthy the body needs the right building blocks. Here are a few very strong (vegan) foods for your hair:

Berries, Like strawberries and blueberries, their vitamin C and antioxidants help protect the hair and keep it from breaking.

Greens, spinach, sweet potatoes, and avocado, which help with vitamin A, E, iron, and healthy fats are all important in healthy hair.

Nuts and Seeds, like almonds, sunflower or flax seeds, all help with vitamin E and zinc. They also give essential fatty acids to promote hair growth.

If you don’t want to change your diet, you can always start taking hair vitamins. These vitamins are made of all the building blocks your hair needs. One of my favourites is from Hair Lust. They have one for women and one for men, our bodies need different nutrition and we have different hormonal needs. And all products they have are vegan and help to let your hair grow!

Next up is one of the harder things to tackle, lower stress. Hair is, for our body, a waste product build-up from proteins. When we have lots of stress those proteins are needed elsewhere. When that happens your hair feels flat, breaks apart, or even falls out… To avoid all that, make sure you sleep well, enjoy your job, get rid of toxic people, and treat yourself with self-care movements, whatever that may be for you.

Then there is this most logical belief that when you want your hair to grow longer you don’t cut it. And this might work for those with strong hair. It definitely does not help those with more fragile hair. They (and probably all) need a regular trim somewhere between 8 to 12 weeks. This will make sure your hair can grow yet won’t break, and makes sure your hair looks awesome throughout the growing period.

Now the most important one! Keep on breathing… Your hair takes time to grow (around a centimeter a month), all you really need to do is keep breathing and not cutting it short. Stay consistent and ask your hairdresser to guide you through the process.

When you follow these tips you will grow your hair longer than ever before. With great quality hair, lots of shine, and a great style. Get ready to show off that long glamorous shines hair!
